Avoid Dusty Dudes

Once in a while you will encounter dusty guys with nothing but mischief and negativity on their minds. These are dudes that can’t get out of their own way, ruining whatever they touch.

Trust me when I tell you this, avoid them. They’ve got nothing to offer a man with goals, a plan, and who’s going places. 

I’m always running across these types of guys in the hood, and they usually come in two flavors: those offering encouragement and praise, which is cool, or the type you’ll usually meet, haters that look at you side-eyed, jealous of your gains because you remind them of the many opportunities they’ve blown.

Don’t think twice about their negativity, or even engage them. Resist attempts to get them into a deep discussion and certainly don’t try to save them. Forget all that.

You can’t help someone that doesn’t want it, which would have started with them helping themselves and not being in the situation they’re in today. Just give a polite nod or show indifference (my preference) and keep moving. 

Remember, they’re a lost cause and have nothing to offer a man with everything to live for, a man like you.
