Ego Check

It’s time for a mental tune-up.
I know it’s difficult to get real with yourself, but it’s a manhood requirement.
Too many guys are quick to get offended or blame others. They’ll swear everything was good until a person or situation got them tight.
They’re oblivious to how weak-minded they really are, fronting like everything’s cool while getting blown around by the slightest emotional wind.
If you’re constantly reacting, it’s a clear sign your ego’s messing with you, and you must check it!
You need to understand how your feelings and responses interact, while not being a slave to your impulses.
By the way, ego distortions aren’t just about strutting around with a poked out chest.
Naw, it’s way more complicated than that. Your ego reveals itself in a variety of negative ways that affect your life.
For example, you might be fearful and insecure, which can develop into more serious emotional conditions such as depression and paranoia, or be chronically fatigued and over-stressed, impeding your ability to make necessary changes in your life.
The only way to neutralize your ego’s influence is by taking complete responsibility for yourself.
You shouldn’t have gaps or cracks in your understanding. (This won’t happen if you’re dedicated to self-study.)
Place lofty standards on your personal conduct, and get your mind right by seeing things as they are, without being “extra.” Require others to do the same. Don’t let someone else’s issues drag you down, limiting your potential.
Become a multi-level thinker by not getting so wrapped up with people and circumstances, that you can’t see how your decisions effect outcomes.
If you’re like most guys, you’ve tried to get power from people or situations. And you know this doesn’t work.
Whereas, checking your ego is an effective way to gain personal mastery, and change your life.
But only you can make it happen.
Later,
Gary
